OBA OF BENIN CALLS FOR PEACE IN THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

The Oba of Benin has called on members of the National Assembly to ensure that peace reign in the parliament for the interest of Nigeria and Nigerians.
His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II made the call when Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso led other members of the Kwankwaso Movement on a courtesy visit to the Omo N’Oba in his Palace.
The Benin Monarch who expressed worries about the recent happenings in the National Assembly said without peace and security there can be no meaningful development in the country.
The Omo N’Oba commended Senator Kwankwaso for expressing his desire to serve as President of Nigeria, and prayed God and the Ancestor to give Nigeria the best president who will not only respect traditional institutions, but also develop the country and improve the standard of living of the people.
The Oba of Benin stated that if traditional institutions are accorded the desired respect, things will be better in Nigeria.
Addressing His Royal Majesty, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso expressed his desire to serve Nigeria in the capacity of President, adding that he was in Benin City to meet with his party members, and considered it very important to visit the Omo N’Oba to solicit for Royal blessing.
Senator Kwankwaso enumerated some challenges confronting the country to include insecurity, problem of electricity, poor education, and healthcare, with a promise to improve on them if given the opportunity.
He also promised to promote cultural heritage as well as support traditional institutions in Nigeria.
